House washing and soft washing questions
How we clean vinyl, Hardie, brick and stucco homes in Hendersonville without damaging them.
Is pressure washing bad for my house?
Not when it is done right. On homes we soft wash, which uses much lower pressure than a pressure washer plus a metered cleaning solution that kills mildew, mold and algae at the root. High pressure can force water behind siding, strip paint and etch wood. Soft washing gets the house clean without that risk. See our house washing service.
What is the difference between soft washing and pressure washing?
Pressure washing uses high water pressure to blast dirt off hard surfaces like concrete. Soft washing uses low pressure and a cleaning solution that does the work, so it is safe for siding, roofs and painted surfaces. We pressure wash driveways and walkways, and we soft wash your house and roof.
How often should I wash my house in Tennessee?
Most Middle Tennessee homes need a house wash about once a year. Our humid summers feed mildew and algae fast, especially on the north and shaded sides of the house and on homes near Old Hickory Lake. When you see green or black film coming back, it is time. Repeat customers get a yearly service discount.
What are the green and black stains on my siding?
Usually algae, mildew and mold. They thrive in Tennessee humidity and shade, and they keep spreading until they are killed at the root. A garden hose or a rental pressure washer only knocks off the surface layer, which is why the stains come back so fast. Soft washing kills the growth.
Will soft washing hurt my plants, grass or pets?
No. Our professional soft wash system meters cleaning agents down to 1/10th of a percent, and we pre-soak and rinse your plants before, during and after every job. We just ask that you keep pets inside while we work.
What kind of siding can you clean?
Vinyl, Hardie (fiber cement), brick and stucco, plus trim. Each surface gets the right cleaning mix and pressure so it comes out clean without damage.
Can you clean a two-story or multi-level house?
Yes. Multi-level homes and tall gutters are a specialty, not a problem. We reach the high peaks and back walls other companies skip. See two-story results in our before and after gallery.
Do I need to be home while you clean?
No. All of our work is outside, so you can be at work or running errands. You come home to a clean house.
Roof cleaning questions
Black streaks, shingle safety and metal roofs.
What are the black streaks on my roof?
Algae. The most common type, Gloeocapsa magma, feeds on the limestone filler in asphalt shingles and shows up as dark streaks, usually on the north and shaded sides of the roof. It is not dirt, and rain will not wash it off. A roof soft wash kills it and the streaks come off.
Is roof soft washing safe for shingles?
Yes. We never pressure wash a shingle roof. Low-pressure soft washing cleans without knocking granules loose, and we protect every plant before, during and after.
Should I clean my roof or replace it?
Clean it first. Black streaks make a roof look older than it is, and plenty of homeowners replace roofs that only needed cleaning. A soft wash costs a small fraction of a new roof, and once the roof is clean any real damage is easy to see.
Do you clean metal roofs?
Yes. We wash metal roofs to remove the chalky, faded film, dirt and algae and bring back the original color.
Driveway cleaning and sealing questions
Concrete, aggregate and paver cleaning, plus sealing to keep it looking new.
What surfaces can you clean and seal?
Exposed aggregate, broom-finish concrete, pavers and patios, plus sidewalks and walkways. See our driveway cleaning and sealing service.
Why should I seal my driveway after cleaning it?
Sealing locks in the clean. It deepens the color, helps block stains and protects the surface from the weather, so your driveway stays nicer longer. On exposed aggregate it brings back the rich look of the stone.
How long do I need to stay off a freshly sealed driveway?
It depends on the sealer and the weather. We tell you exactly when you can walk and drive on it, and we tape it off so nobody pulls in early.
Can you remove oil stains from concrete?
We can lighten most oil, rust and tire marks, and many come out completely. Deep stains that soaked in for years may not fully disappear, and we tell you up front what to expect before we start.
Gutter cleaning questions
Why clean gutters matter and how often to have them done.
How often should gutters be cleaned?
At least once a year, and twice if you have trees close to the house. Late fall, after the leaves come down, is the most important cleaning of the year in Sumner County.
Why does gutter cleaning matter?
Clogged gutters overflow, and that water lands right next to your foundation, soaks fascia boards and can back up under the roof edge. Free-flowing gutters carry water away from the house.
Can you clean gutters on tall homes?
Yes. Tall and multi-level homes are a specialty. See our gutter cleaning service.
Commercial pressure washing questions
Storefronts, apartments, restaurants and industrial buildings.
Do you offer commercial pressure washing?
Yes. We clean storefronts, apartment complexes, restaurants and industrial buildings across Sumner County, including building exteriors, sidewalks and entryways. See our commercial pressure washing service.
Why does commercial pressure washing matter?
Customers judge your business before they walk in the door. A clean storefront, sidewalk and entryway looks cared for, feels safer and keeps your property in better shape.
Christmas light installation questions
Design, install and January take-down, handled for you.
How much does Christmas light installation cost in Hendersonville?
Every home is different, so every quote is custom. Price comes down to how many feet of roofline you want lit, how many peaks and stories you have, and whether you add trees, bushes, columns or walkways. Text us a photo of your house for a free, exact quote. See our Christmas light installation.
When should I book my Christmas light install?
Now. Our install calendar fills up between Halloween and Thanksgiving, and the best dates go first.
When do you install, and when do you take the lights down?
Installs run from early November into December. After the holidays, we come back in January and take everything down for you. You never touch a ladder at either end.
Will Christmas light clips damage my roof or gutters?
No. We hang lights with clips made for gutters and shingles. No nails, no staples, no holes. When the lights come down, your roofline looks exactly like it did before.
Do I need to be home for the Christmas light install?
No. As long as we can reach an outdoor outlet, we can do the whole job while you are at work.
Should I clean my house before the Christmas lights go up?
Yes, and we recommend it. A soft wash before your install means your lights shine on a clean house, not on mildew and dirt. We can do both.
